Joshua's friend in Québec

We have found this wonderful restaurant in downtown Québec that serves the most wonderful onion soup. The first time we went to the restaurant, we went with my in-laws to try out this wonderful onion soup. When we went we had a fabulous waitress, that had a beautiful smile and she loved Joshua. Before we left Joshua gave her a flower, she thought that was wonderful. Since that time we have returned with some friends and she has always been at the restaurant, and she always says hi to Joshua and they always talk. Well, we went for are last time to down town Québec (sniff sniff we are going to miss it), to our favorite restaurant, Joshua saw her and she saw him, and they reunited (heeee). They talked for a little while and she asked me if she could write him, how cute, they are going to email. So Joshua has a girl friend in Québec. She is a wonderful lady and Joshua thinks she is great.

A very handsome boy.

I am very blessed, God has given Jesse and I a wonderful son. I am so thankful for Joshua, he is such a joy. Just the other day Joshua was asking Jesse about cigarettes and why we don't smoke. Jesse was explaining to him that it is not good for your lungs and your body. He was also explaining to him how it can become a habit, Joshua sat and thought about it. After a few min he told Jesse that is why we did not buy the computer game, because it would become a habit and we would not be able to stop playing it, Jesse said that is right. He was talking about a computer game that they play together sometimes.
He amazes me, how he has this ability to figure things out, he had also made a comment about when you make a choice it affects your life. I think he is getting it. I am so proud of him. I love him so much.

A fun time with friends in Québec

No kids, No English, lots of laughs and a wonderful time, Jesse and I enjoyed a evening away from Joshua with some friends. We went to a restaurant named Scores, hear in Québec.
We have enjoyed meeting new friends and are blessed with some wonderful French speaking friends.

We left for Boston and had a wonderful time exploring Boston, following the freedom trail, going to Fenway park, seeing my grandparents and riding the subway all over Boston. We had a wonderful time. I really enjoyed my time with Janell, we had a wonderful girl time, we went shopping at the Christmas tree shop and went out to eat together and closed the restaurant :) we talked a long time, it was wonderful.

Joshua has a new friend

Joshua and I vistited a glass blowing store one day in Old Quebec, and Joshua heard a little boy speaking in English, he asked me if he could talk to the boy, and of course I said yes. I began to talk with the mom (Cindy) and I found out that they living in Quebec for a few years because her husband is in the military, but they are from a diffrent part of Canada. We exchanged phone numbers and we said we should get together. Before I left the store Cindy the mom turned to her kids and said you know what kids, I believe God sent us to this store so we could met Joshua and Tiffany, our new friends. It was such a blessing to hear a mom talk to her kids that way and I found out also that they are Christians and go to a English speaking church in Old Quebec.
Just a few days before we met them I was talking to Jesse about how Joshua does not have any guy friends, and he really needs one. God gets all the glory, we have already had one full day of playing and the boys play wonderfully together, as you can see by the picture they bonded together very quickly.
"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:"

New family picture

Electricity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My in-laws came in today from Washington they are visiting for a week, and we went to a park to look around, and to take a picture for our family blog. Before the picture Jesse noticed that my hair and my moms hair was doing the same thing standing on end on the top of our heads. We knew that a storm was coming in and we assumed it was from that. we took the family picture and started walking around. I was standing away from my mom and all of a sudden it felt like I had just walked into a spider web, or all of my hair on the top of my head fell on my face, I heard my mom at the same time gasp, she felt the same thing. That was the closest I ever want to be to getting electrocuted. We believe that something happened to the electrical charge in the air, and that is what we felt. It is just very strange that no one else felt it but my mom and I.
If you look closely at the picture you will see my hair sticking up.
My father was telling us later if you ever feel that way you need to run for cover because it means that lightning is going to strike very close or strike you.

I want to be perfect like God

Last night Joshua was working on a page of school work, it was a very simple one. We have not worked on any school since summer started, so he is out of practice. He was very very very tired and he was crying over everything. He was trying to make a S and he was having a hard time, he continued to erase the S and try again. He was getting so frustrated and he started to cry, I told him that he just needs to keep practicing. He said I want it perfect, and of coarse I told him we are not perfect Joshua, but we can do the best we can do and that is perfect for us. That was not good enough for him he said "I want to be perfect like God!" oh my goodness you never know what is going to come out of this boys mouth, he is so funny.

Quebec is now 400 years old, we thought it would be great to go downtown and watch one of the biggest firework display in Quebec. We met some friends downtown, and they had found a great place to watch the fireworks, we could see the boats that they where shooting the fireworks from, it was perfect.
After it was finished we started walking back to the car, first I had to scale a wall. Now just remember I am 5 foot, and the wall came up to my shoulder, everyone else in the group is much taller and have really long legs. I wish you could have seen me trying to get over the wall. Do you know what a turtle looks like on its back, well that was me. Someone told me to just jump up and put my bum on the wall, yeah right that was not going to happen. I am proud to say I found higher ground and was able to scale the wall with just a few bruises.
When we got to the street we where met with a sea of people, it was like cattle being herded down the street, and we got right in the middle of it, what a experience. I will try and post a picture of the people later.
We finally arrived at the van, to sit in line to get out of the parking garage for 50 min. FUN FUN FUN.
We really did have a great time, and what a experience we had.

A very CRAZY five year old

Help me I am going crazy from all the noises that comes out of a 5 year old boy. If you have been around Joshua lately you will notice he talks and makes noises constantly. For some reason recently it has been driving me crazy. The other morning from 8:30 till 11:30 I believe he talked and made noises non-stop. Today I woke up and it was the same thing, I knew I could not take another day of it. I realized at that point I have been trying to do this on my own, I have not been allowing God be the mother in my place, at that time I gave it over to the Lord and let Him take my place. Amazingly it has been more peaceful. However it did not fix the non-stop talking or noises, matter of fact he is on the floor right now playing with a brush from a vacuum , making noises and talking to himself. That is the life of a 5 year old non-stop noises. I am learning to Love it.

Jesse took these pictures of Joshua and his overalls, I love these pictures. I have a song that goes with it and that is what is written on the page. I got 5 pockets in my overalls, I got 5 pockets in my overalls, I got two in the back, and two in the front, and one in it's original place in the front. Joshua loves this song and everytime he wears the overalls he wants me to sing the song to him.

Cabine de sucre

During the winter in Quebec the people hear love cabin de sucre, it is a special treat that is made up of pure maple syrup. The process to make this is very interesting, they heat up the maple syrup until it becomes like water, and they drizzle it over snow. After that is done you take a popsicle stick and you start at the end of the syrup and you start to roll the syrup, and it becomes like caramel, and you eat it like a sucker. It tastes wonderful , very very very sweet but yummy. It was a wonderful experience. Joshua loved it, because it was sugar.

I am very excited about using it, I feel like I just got a brand new toy and can't wait to play with it. I am sure you will be seeing lots of pictures.
Tonight we had a friend from church come over for dinner his name is Benoit. We had a wonderful evening, Joshua really enjoyed him.

Bonjour from Québec

This is the first time I have ever done something like this, and I am very excited about it. I hope to write on this often and give you updates on what is going on in my life at that time. I do not guarantee that it will be interesting, but I will have fun writing on it.
