What we eat.

This past Friday I was visiting some neighbors and one of my friends was going down to the mill to get her corn ground, so I decided to go with her. As we were walking I started to think about all of the different kinds of meals I make and how we rarely eat the same thing twice in one week.
After that thought I asked my friend how long this bucket of corn would last her. She said about a week if they do not have anything else to eat like rice or fufu. You see, they eat corn for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As I was standing at the little mill I began to realize how fortunate I am. The Lord has given me enough money to buy different vegetables and meats to make wonderful healthy meals for my family.
We are all very blessed in so many ways. But I want to say this, the lady I am speaking of has never complained to me about food, or the lack of it. She is a single mom with four kids who is raising them for God. She says she is blessed beyond measure and that is so true, even while eating corn 3 times a day she is blessed.

I am sure you know!

This December I discovered that I was pregnant. This came as a really big shock because we have been praying for a baby for 7 years, along with many other people. I had often asked God just to give me a yes or no answer, but I never got one, only "wait." So that is what I did.

God's timing is perfect in our lives with everything. I was just speaking to a lady the other day who was, I believe, 7 months pregnant when she lost her baby. I was sharing with her that I was pregnant and that I have been waiting 7 years. At times I have not understood why God did not give us a baby, but I did not understand His plan in my life.

I told her that sometimes His plan is hard to accept and hard to understand but you can rest in the fact that His plan is perfect and He will sustain you and lift you up; just completely rely on Him. God has blessed this lady with two beautiful boys and she is so thankful for them.
I am also thankful for my wonderful son that God has blessed me with and I can't wait for our new addition to meet him.
